In a notable development, the Radha Soami Satsang Beas (RSSB) has announced a significant leadership change. The current head, Gurinder Singh Dhillon, has appointed 45-year-old Jasdeep Singh Gill as his successor, making him the new patron and 'Sant Satguru' of the spiritual organization. This transition is effective immediately.
Jasdeep Singh Gill, who holds a doctorate in chemical engineering from Cambridge University and is also an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, will now lead the RSSB. The organization, headquartered near the Beas River close to Amritsar, has a large following and a deep spiritual legacy.
In an official statement, RSSB secretary Devender Kumar Sikri announced the succession, stating, “Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon has appointed Jasdeep Singh Gill, son of Sukhdev Singh Gill, as the new patron of the Radha Soami Satsang Beas Society, starting from September 2, 2024. Additionally, Jasdeep Singh Gill will take on the role of Sant Satguru, with the responsibility and authority to give spiritual initiation (naam).”
The statement also conveyed Baba Ji’s heartfelt wish, expressing hope that the 'sangat' (congregation) will extend the same love and support to Jasdeep Singh Gill in his new role as they did to him after Huzur Maharaj Ji. This support is seen as crucial for Jasdeep Singh Gill as he embarks on his spiritual leadership and service (sewa) journey.
