Heavy Rainfall Predicted in Kerala
The IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in Kerala from August 15 to 19, due to a cyclonic circulation over the southeast Arabian Sea and the south Kerala coast. The department has advised fishermen to avoid fishing activities in the Kerala-Lakshadweep-Karnataka coastal region during this period due to strong winds.
Red Alert Issued for Lakshadweep
Additionally, the IMD has issued a red alert for Lakshadweep, predicting heavy rainfall exceeding 20 cm in the next 24 hours. The weather in Lakshadweep is expected to remain similar for the coming days.
Light Rain Expected in Odisha
Due to low pressure in the Bay of Bengal, light rain accompanied by strong winds is predicted in Odisha. The weather department has warned fishermen to avoid going out to sea until August 17. Earlier, the IMD had predicted heavy rainfall in parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand until August 15, with light to moderate rain continuing in both states until the end of the week.
