New Delhi, India : The cafeteria at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, has transitioned to a fully digital payment system. This decision was made to improve transaction efficiency and eliminate cash transactions, aligning with AIIMS' commitment to modernization and convenience.
Despite previous directives, cash transactions were still occurring alongside digital payments at the cafeteria. To address this, the administration has enforced a policy allowing only digital payment methods such as smart cards, UPI, credit cards, and debit cards at all cafeteria counters.
Dr. M Srinivas, the Director of AIIMS, emphasized the significance of this transition, stating, “Shifting to 100% digital payments is a crucial step towards enhancing transparency, security, and convenience for our staff, visitors, and stakeholders. We encourage everyone to embrace this new system for a smoother cafeteria experience.”
Dr. Rima Dada, from the PIC Media Cell, commended AIIMS for its progressive approach in adopting technological advancements. “The implementation of a fully digital payment system reflects AIIMS’ commitment to embracing innovation. This transition not only enhances convenience but also contributes to a more secure and efficient payment ecosystem.”
The move towards digital payments is part of AIIMS' broader efforts to modernize its facilities and services. By eliminating cash transactions, AIIMS aims to streamline operations, reduce the risk of errors, and enhance overall efficiency in its cafeteria.
The decision to enforce digital payments comes after observing continued cash transactions despite previous guidelines. By mandating digital payment methods, AIIMS aims to create a cashless environment that aligns with global trends and promotes financial transparency.
Dr. M Srinivas stressed the importance of adapting to this change, highlighting the benefits it brings to both users and the institution. “By transitioning to digital payments, we not only improve efficiency but also ensure a safer and more convenient experience for everyone involved. It's essential that we all embrace this shift for the betterment of AIIMS.”
The adoption of digital payments reflects AIIMS' commitment to leveraging technology to enhance user experience and operational efficiency. By embracing modern payment solutions, AIIMS aims to stay at the forefront of technological advancements in the healthcare sector.
Dr. Rima Dada emphasized the positive impact of digital payments on security and convenience. “Moving towards digital payments is a significant step forward for AIIMS. It not only streamlines transactions but also ensures greater security and convenience for users.”
