2. Good news for India's economy!
The IMF has upped its GDP growth forecast for India in the fiscal year 2024-25 to 6.8%, up by 30 basis points from before. Strong domestic demand and a growing working-age population are expected to keep India's growth steady. Globally, growth is expected to hold at 3.2% for the fiscal years 2024-25 and 2025-26. India remains the world's fastest-growing economy during this time, outpacing China's growth forecast of 4.6%.
3. India has a big ambition for space:
to make it debris-free by 2030! This was announced by ISRO Chairman S. Somanath during the 42nd IADC annual meeting. He emphasized ISRO's clear strategy and commitment to sustainable space exploration for future missions.
4. Astronomers have discovered something fascinating in the Milky Way:
the largest known stellar black hole named Gaia-BH3. Found using data from the Gaia mission, it's causing unusual 'wobbles' in its companion star. Earth-based observatories have confirmed its existence. This massive black hole is over 33 times the mass of our Sun and is located 1,926 light-years away in the Aquila constellation.
5. Bangalore recently hosted an exciting international workshop on 'Emerging Technologies and Challenges for Exoskeletons', organized by the DRDO. Dr. Samir V.
