Bajaj Auto is on the brink of sparking a new era in the motorcycle industry in New Delhi by unveiling the world's first CNG-powered motorcycle. Rajiv Bajaj, the Managing Director, dropped a significant hint about the launch date, noting that the company leads in CNG three-wheeler sales nationwide.
Highlights:
- Bajaj's first CNG bike is set to launch in June 2024.
- It may offer a mileage of 70-80 kilometers.
- The bike's price could range from 80,000 to 85,000 rupees.
Highlighting the eco-friendly and cost-saving attributes, Rajiv Bajaj mentioned that the CNG motorcycle will appeal to environmentally conscious individuals, riding on the wave of rapid CNG network development in the country. He hinted at the possibility of launching the bike under a separate brand.
While a specific launch date for Bajaj's CNG bike is yet to be announced, Rajiv Bajaj revealed that it's slated for release by June 2024. However, reports suggest it might come with a higher price tag compared to petrol counterparts due to initial manufacturing costs associated with CNG and dual-fuel technology.
Under Rajiv Bajaj's leadership, Bajaj Auto is gearing up to roll out a special series of clean fuel motorcycles, with the first CNG model potentially hitting the roads in June. Additionally, the company plans to invest ₹5,000 crore in Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives over the next five years.
The upcoming motorcycle, running on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), promises improved fuel efficiency for environmentally conscious riders. Rajiv Bajaj emphasized its appeal to customers seeking better mileage, thanks to its CNG technology and the inclusion of a dual-fuel tank for petrol and CNG options. However, its price is expected to be higher compared to petrol bikes.
